SERVICES

One to one tutoring for basic literacy and English as a Second Language.

Conversation classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels for English as a Second Language (ESOL) students.

GED Preparation classes - Computer and classroom instruction that is self paced based on each individual's level.  Students work at their own pace.  All students are tested prior to beginning so a goal and path can be set for learning.

GED Distance Learning Classes-These classes are offered through our agency for those working on a GED but provide them the ability to work from home or at any Branch Library. Students are tested and assessed as with all other classes but they then do their classwork through an Internet based program in cooperation with YRC teachers. This service is for highly motivated and tech savy learners. If you choose to work at home you must have Internet access. Computers are also available at several YCLD library branches in the East County. This program is a cooperative of YRC and YCLD.

English as a Second Language (ESL) - Classroom instruction is provided for all non English speakers.  Classes are given at five different academic levels.  Students are enrolled on an open entry system and progress at their own rates. Open to all.

Spanish Literacy for those individuals illiterate in their native language. Limited space.
