Staff Picks Program @ Foothills Library

“Foothills Library Staff Picks,” continues on Saturday, September 25th, at 1:00 p.m. Staff member Araceli Hermoso-Palacios will discuss The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien.

After the presentation, a documentary exploring the connections between real-world history and the epic events of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy will be shown. Enjoy freshly popped popcorn courtesy of the Friends of the Foothills Library.

There is no charge to attend; however, registration is required. Please call (928) 342-1640.

Quilts for Kids @ Foothills Library

Quilts for Kids, Inc. transforms discontinued and unwanted fabrics into quilts, and links design centers and other fabric sources nationwide to their communities to provide quilts for children battling cancer, AIDS, and other serious illnesses, as well as children who have been abused.

The Foothills Library Quilting Club will display their second donation of quilts on Thursday, September 23rd, before they are shipped to Quilts for Kids, Inc. headquarters in Pennsylvania. The Quilting Club also plans to make a donation to the Arizona Children’s Association, a nonprofit agency that offers foster care, adoption, behavioral health, prevention programs, and other child welfare services.

BabyTime @ Yuma County Libraries

Before they walk, before they talk, they can learn reading skills! The Yuma County Library District is pleased to offer BabyTime, a special interactive story time for babies and their caregivers. Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories, and playtime in each lively BabyTime session. BabyTime gives your baby the opportunity to develop language and literacy skills while socializing with other babies and caregivers

Beginning Thursday, September 9th, BabyTime will be held every Thursday at the Main Library, 2951 S 21st Drive, at the following times:

 9:15 a.m.   (crawlers)
10:30 a.m.  (walkers)
 2:15 p.m.   (crawlers)
 3:30 p.m.   (walkers)

Beginning the week of September 13th, BabyTime will also be held at the following branch libraries:

These webinars are geared to the novice grantseeker and will provide an overview of the funding research process, as well as the basics of proposal writing and budgeting.
