Who are our volunteers?

Our volunteers come from many walks of life and a variety of backgrounds: schools, churches, the "winter visitor" population, homemakers, retirees, people contemplating a career change or people who are are between jobs.

What could you do?

There are several tasks in our library that are performed by volunteers. We ask each potential volunteer to fill out an application. This information, along with a brief interview, provides us with information that will allow us to place you in an area, as jobs are available, in which you will be the most comfortable. Job examples include: preparing books for checkout, wrapping book dust-covers with plastic, book mending, and material preparation for programs.

Why should you volunteer?

Volunteering allows you to give of yourself to help your community, expand your horizons, learn job skills, enhance your resume, and offers potential friendships. Volunteering feels good! Whatever your reason, we welcome and appreciate your contribution!

How do you sign up?

If you would like to be a part of our library system and have time, and talents to share, please visit the library and ask for an application.
