All webinars begin at 11 a.m. and are approximately 60 minutes long. Following each webinar, there will be an information session about Foundation Center resources available at the Yuma Main Library.

Before You Seek a Grant: A Checklist for New Nonprofits

This webinar will provide you with a step-by-step checklist approach to help increase your organization's readiness for foundation fundraising, addressing such questions as:
What groundwork do I have to have in place before approaching foundations for funding?
What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status and where can I get some help to do so?
What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits?
This course is geared towards representatives of community groups without nonprofit status or new nonprofits with very little experience in grantseeking in general. We focus specifically on foundation fundraising.
Introduction to Finding Funders

This session provides an introduction to one of the key online tools for finding funders, Foundation Directory Online Professional. Learn how to create customized searches to develop lists of prospective foundation and corporate donors that will match your nonprofit organization's funding needs. With Foundation Directory Online Professional you can search for foundations that support programs and organizations like yours, fund in your geographic area, and many other criteria.
This webinar will include a demonstration of the database followed by hands-on searching time (you may want to allow for an extra 15 minutes past the hour to take full advantage of the practice time).
Audience: Representatives of nonprofit organizations looking for potential foundation or corporate supporters. The webinar assumes no previous experience with Foundation Directory Online Professional.

Guide to Online Grantseeker Resources

This session is a guided tour of all the free resources available on the Foundation Center’s web site. During the webinar you will explore many tools and resources to help you become a better grantseeker. Specifically, you will learn:
How to access and understand grantmaker information, utilizing various free search tools including Foundation Finder, 990 Finder and Trend Tracker;
How to keep up-to-date on key philanthropy news; and,
How to build your capacity in proposal writing and other key topics in foundation fundraising.
These classes are being offered through a collaborative effort among the Yuma County Library District, a cooperating collection of the Foundation Center; the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research & Grants for Arizona Western College; and the Yuma Community Foundation.
