In 1984 the Foothills Branch Library opened in an 8' x 20' space in the Foothills Clubhouse with 1500 paperbacks and an all-volunteer staff. We moved into the current facility in 2002 with 25,987 items to serve the unincorporated area's population of 24,466, which doubles in the "Snowbird" season. In November 2005 Yuma County voters approved a $53.7 million bond issue to build libraries and enhance library services throughout the county. The new library will be 22,000 square feet with 75 parking spaces. We plan to be in the new building by the end of 2007.
The current Branch Supervisor is Carol Finfrock.
