Frequently Asked Questions

No. You only need to log in to check your account.
How do I check my account/ log in?
You enter your user id and pin in the boxes at the top of the main catalog page.
What are my User ID and Pin?
Your user id is on the back of your library card, under the barcode. Leave off the CX and use just the numbers that follow it. Your pin is the 4 digit code given on a different card when new cards are issued. It is the same pin used for the self-check machines and to sign on to the public computers in the lab. If you don't know your pin, the Circulation Desk can look it up for you.

The item I want is at Main (or Foothills, etc.) and I use the Foothills (or Wellton, etc.) library.
We have a courier who transfers items between the Main, Wellton, Foothills, Somerton, and San Luis libraries. Contact your branch to have an item sent from another branch. However:
The book I want is at Arizona Western College (AWC or academic), Hyder, or Mohawk. Can it be brought over to a different library?
We cannot transfer items from these three locations to any other location. We may be able to get the item through interlibrary loan, however that process can take 2-3 weeks or more. Members of the community can get cards from AWC and check out their items.
E-audiobooks are audiobooks you can download from our Netlibrary subscription. They appear in the catalog just like regular items, but say 'electronic resource' by the title, with the location as Main. To use e-audiobooks, you will need to sign up for Netlibrary at the library. This netlibrary account is not the same as one for the academic library's e-books. Once you have an account, you can find items in our catalog or by searching in Netlibrary. E-audiobooks can be transfered to most mp3 players or played on your computer with Windows Media Player 9. They cannot be downloaded at the library, nor can they be transfered to a cd or ipod.
What are e-books?
Items in the catalog that say 'electronic book' or 'electronic resource' with the location as 'academic' are offered by Netlibrary through Arizona Western College. You must visit the AWC library to get a login and password for these items. After that you can access them from any internet computer.
How do I place a hold on a book?
Currently, placing holds directly through the catalog is unavailable. The Hold feature in our catalog had to be disabled because our software did not use one element in placing holds that was needed. As a result, many branch requests ended up on the wrong item and library users did not receive the books they had requested. We are continuing to work with the vendor to resolve this issue.
To have a hold placed on an item, you can fill in the information in the 'contact us' forminside the catalog, or you can call or visit your library during open hours.
